Questions to ask before you say yes to treatment

After an appointment, upload your X-ray in the app. In about a minute, the AI sends back a plain-English report that flags possible overtreatment, missed cavities or procedures you may not need.

Use it as a starting point

The report is educational, not a diagnosis. Clear Care's terms say it isn't reviewed by a licensed dentist before it reaches you, so take it to your own dentist to confirm.

Six things worth knowing first

What we found reading Clear Care's site, terms and app listing.

It isn't insurance

Clear Care doesn't pay claims. Apart from the included preventive care, you pay your dentist the negotiated price yourself.

Year one costs more

With the $99.99 fee and the surcharge, the Individual plan costs about $659 in year one, against $608 for the same care at Clear Care's Miami list prices. From year two it's about $556. The +1 plan comes out ahead in year one.

Monthly means a 90-day wait

On monthly billing, the free cleanings, exam and X-rays start after 90 days. Paying for the year upfront avoids the wait, but annual memberships aren't refundable.

Get every price in writing

The site isn't consistent. The home page mentions in-network dentists and the same rate every time, but the coverage page says there's no network, and the costs page says there's no fixed member rate. Check the estimate in the app before treatment.

It's a brand-new company

The iPhone app launched on 30 September 2026 and has no App Store ratings yet. The terms page calls itself an operating draft awaiting legal review.

AI reports aren't checked by a dentist

The home page demo shows a dentist-verified X-ray report, but the terms say second-opinion reports aren't reviewed by a licensed dentist before delivery.

Asked before joining

Is Clear Care insurance?

No. It's a paid membership. You get set preventive care included, and negotiated prices on other treatment. It doesn't pay claims, and there are no deductibles, claim forms or annual maximum on included care.

Can I keep my own dentist?

Clear Care says any dentist works, in-network or not. You book in the app and the concierge coordinates with the practice. Ask the concierge to confirm your dentist and the price before your first visit.

How soon can I use it?

Pay for the year upfront and everything is active straight away. On monthly billing, the included cleanings, exam and X-rays start after 90 days. Negotiated prices on treatment apply from day one.

What will fillings or crowns cost?

There's no fixed member rate. The concierge negotiates the price for each visit before treatment, and you can check any procedure's estimate in the app first.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time from your dashboard, with no cancellation fee. Monthly plans end at the close of the billing cycle. Annual plans aren't refunded, but your benefits last until the paid-through date. The $99.99 enrollment fee isn't refundable.

Who can join?

You need to be 18 or over to enroll, and parents or guardians can add children under 18. Clear Care says the plan works in every state.

Is my data safe?

Clear Care says your data is encrypted at rest and in transit and stored in line with HIPAA, with role-based access, and that it never sells your data.

Is there an Android app?

Clear Care only links to an iPhone app so far. The member card also works in Google Wallet, and you can manage your account on the web.
