Power on

Battery backup

When the power goes out, you could be trapped in your chair.

Storms and grid failures strike without warning, often at night. Without power, a lift chair stops wherever it is, with no lift to help you stand.

More than enough to get through an outage: up to 596 recline cycles on one full charge, rated under an 85 kg (187 lb) load.

Surge protection for the motor

Lightning and the spike when power comes back can damage a lift chair's motor. Surge protection helps shield the motor and electronics.

What actually makes the GrandComfort different from a regular power lift recliner?

The GrandComfort is a true zero-gravity lift chair, not a standard fixed-recline lift chair — it uses an Infinite-Position Recline system to move through Zero Gravity and full Lay-Flat positions rather than stopping at one or two preset angles. It's powered by 3 built-in motors from Okin, marketed as "German Technology Motor" and known for smooth, whisper-quiet operation and a long lifespan. It's currently listed at $928 (down from a $1,900 list price).

Does it recline all the way flat, and does it have heat and massage?

Yes — the GrandComfort's Infinite-Position Recline lets it move continuously between Zero Gravity and full Lay-Flat, so it isn't limited to a couple of fixed angles. It also comes with Advanced Massage & Heating built directly into the chair, controllable along with the recline.

My mom has swollen legs and poor circulation — would the zero-gravity position help?

The GrandComfort's zero-gravity positioning is designed to elevate the feet above the heart, which markets as supporting improved circulation and blood flow. That said, this is a comfort/positioning feature of the recline, not a medical treatment, so for an actual circulation or edema condition it's best to confirm suitability with her doctor first — but the lay-flat, leg-elevating recline is exactly why shoppers with these concerns tend to look at this chair.

How hard is assembly, and how long will it take to arrive?

Assembly is designed to be simple, with an easy 4-step assembly process. For specific assembly and delivery details, please contact us directly at help@edwardcreation.com or (949) 891-0646.

How wide is the seat, and how much weight can it hold?

The GrandComfort has a 28-inch-wide seat, described as "extra large," and a weight capacity of 350 lbs. That combination of a wider seat and a 350-lb rating is worth checking against your specific measurements before ordering, since overall chair dimensions, seat depth, and seat height aren't published on the listing.

What's this hidden storage compartment and reading light I've seen mentioned?

The GrandComfort has a hidden, smart storage compartment built into the chair for keeping a phone, remote, glasses, or medication within arm's reach, plus an adjustable touch reading light mounted on the chair. Neither of these is common on every lift chair, so they're worth factoring in if your parent likes to keep small essentials close by without a side table.

Is this a good fit for a taller or heavier user, or someone who really struggles to stand up on their own?

The GrandComfort supports users up to 350 lbs and has a 28-inch seat width, and its 3-motor Power Lift is built to "deliver seamless support for effortless standing." We're explicit, that the chair is designed to assist users in reaching a standing position only — it does not provide support for standing or walking once they're up, so it works best for someone who can bear weight and walk independently after the lift assist. Since exact seat depth and seat height aren't listed, it's worth confirming those with Edward Creation if your parent is notably tall or petite

How hard is assembly, and how long will it take to arrive?

The GrandComfort includes a free 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. If a covered issue comes up, Edward Creation will provide either a free replacement part or a full chair replacement, depending on what's needed.
